When the City Council of Almócita realised that the area was badly affected by depopulation, they decided to change their management  style and to adopt a more participatory model, whereby neighbours and associations could join forces in order to make changes in their own society. This project is based on the assumption that citizens do care about their cultural and natural heritage. The future Ecomuseum will have different kinds of pillars, for example: developing local areas through art and street art; actions regarding agroecology and bioconstruction; a commitment to democratising culture; the value and preservation of the vernacular heritage.
