Father and Son – National Archeological Museum of Naples

Father and Son is the first video game in the world published by an archaeological museum. It is avaible for free in English and Italian, without advertising content, on Apple Store and Google Play.  The game's hand-painted and historically accurate graphics by Sean Wenham enhance the player's unique experience. This is a side-scrolling 2D narrative game, which explores feelings, emotions, dreams, and fears through the journey of discvery undertaken by a child who encouters his father, an archaeologist, for the first time. During this journey, the protagonist experiences different historical periods, with the past and the present alternating in a series of significant choices for the player himself. The player takes on the role of Michael, a young man who goes to Naples after receiving a letter from his father. In particular, Michael will travel to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples to learn more about his father's life and the legacy of knowledge he has left him.

Exploring the streets of the Neapolitan city and the halls of the museum, the player encounters stories that cross the ages, but which present constant references to current life. Interaction and dialogue with other characters will lead the protagonist to make decisions that allow him to delve deeper into the lives of those he has met along the way. The game winds through different time levels: for example, you will be catapulted in 79 AD in Pompeii in the twenty-four hours that preceded the devastating eruption of Vesuvius, and then return ito the present, in the ruins of the Roman city, as a tourist who takes a photo, right on the site of the last hours of life of a family previously encountered in the game.
