The Ecomuseum of the Caicena River promotes various territorial actions in the municipality of Almedinilla, based on a balanced model of local development which combines natural heritage and the history of the municipality. In this project, the main focus is the Caicena River itself; the explanations provided to visitors and local communities clarify what the area has to offer: the Riverside Forest, the natural landscape, orchards, archaeological sites, rural and agrarian heritage, traditional architecture, as well as local knowledge about the rural environement. A series of museum centres that explain the territory and its cultural and natural patrimony have been established: Mill and cereal room, reception and Exhibition Centre, library and housing for researchers, restoration and warehouse workshop, museum of the history of the peasant movements,"Cerro de la Cruz", "Arena Roman Villa"  Archaeological sites, hiking trails, conference rooms and workshops and temporary exhibitions.
